Opportunities
The food market is by far the largest market at the BOP, since this is the primary basic need for everybody no matter how poor. However, there are several other sectors to investigate when dealing with the BOP in Egypt.
Three of the most interesting sectors are:
Food
There is a huge demand for high quality food products at a reasonable price.
Water
Poor people need affordable water purification units and are willing to pay for it. Generally, there is a low level of trust in the centralised purification system, which is why poor people want private household purification systems.
Waste Management
There is a potential for setting up recycle systems where people collect trash for a fee, and further to establish garbage compost plants
