The Base of the Pyramid (BOP) constitutes the markets made up by the world’s poorest people in primarily Africa, Asia, and Latin America. What consumers in these markets lack in individual purchasing power, they make up in sheer volume. Many Danish companies posses technologies and competencies that match the needs of poor consumers. By selling sustainable products to BOP markets, companies can expand their consumer base significantly and at the same time create a positive development impact.
DIBD hosts the Danish Learning Lab supported by Danida. The Learning Lab is part of a global network where companies and other stakeholders working in BOP markets can exchange ideas and experience. The Learning Lab organizes workshops, study trips, and other activities.
DI International Business Development (DIBD) also offers Danish companies individual assistance in developing and implementing successful BOP strategies.
